REFLECTION
Comments made by my peers and Dr. Creel were very positive. Change of format was suggested to go to a landscape version. I think it is more workable and more user-friendly. Adding the area the activities address and the domains and competencies was suggested. This makes it clearer and gives focus to the activities as well. Dr. Creel’s suggestions were particularly helpful since I was not able to meet with my superintendent yet to discuss the plan. I felt he gave me some ideas to think about as I start to work on certain projects. For example, he pointed out the NIMS (National Incident Management System suggests not to use “codes”. Since these are still used, at least when a “code blue” addresses a serious situation, it will be definitely something for me to do research on to see what the suggested guidelines for compliance are and how the district fits into those. He also gave me questions to keep in mind while looking at how the mission statement is supported by the master schedule in a school and budget constraints various departments like maintenance, food service and transportation are possibly facing.
I will be emailing this plan to my superintendent on February 16. I have been in contact with one of his secretaries and she is trying to schedule me in by next Monday to see the superintendent to discuss my intern plan. I will post this in my assignment, on my blog and on my wiki. The TK20 I need to connect to and open for my electronic portfolio. I had trouble finding the directions for it today, so I will contact the university tomorrow to complete the payment and download of the portfolio.
